Please note: Honorlock Mobile Application is currently in Beta.

Organization Enablement

The Allow Mobile Application must be activated at the school or organizational level by the Customer Success Manager.

Once enabled, the feature is active. There is no separate toggle to enable the mobile app itself. Instead, the exam-level proctoring settings already configured for the exam determine how the mobile app is used.

Administrative Exam Configuration

The Honorlock Mobile App banner appears at the top of the Proctoring Settings page whenever the mobile app is enabled and at least one relevant setting is turned on. The banner reflects only the capabilities that are active for the specific exam configuration.

Capabilities that appear in the Honorlock Mobile Application banner, and what triggers each one.

  • ID verification:  Test taker ID is enabled.

  • Workspace Scan: Workspace capture is enabled.

  • Payment: Test taker pay is required.

  • Side-Angle Camera: Use side-angle webcam is enabled.

The Workspace Scan and Room Scan features are located in the Environment Integrity setting. This feature must be toggled on for the mobile application to be used with the side-angle webcam feature.

If Environment Integrity is toggled off and Use Side-Angle webcam is on, the following message is displayed.

The mobile app can be used with the following features enabled on the exam configuration once the Environment Integrity setting is toggled on:

  • Authentication only — If ID Verification, Workspace Scan/Room Scan, or Student Payment are enabled but Side-Angle Webcam is not, the test taker can use the mobile app to complete authentication steps. The phone is not used as a camera during the exam.

  • Side-angle camera only — If Side-Angle Webcam is enabled but the only authentication step is the workspace scan, the test taker will be able to use the Honorlock mobile app.

  • Authentication + side-angle camera — If both authentication settings and Side-Angle Webcam are enabled, the test taker completes all authentication steps on their phone and the device continues as the side-angle camera for the duration of the exam.

If none of the relevant settings are enabled, test takers will not see a banner regarding the mobile app.

Note: The mobile app works only on phones.  The mobile app is not compatible with iPads or tablets.  Students will need to have Chrome installed on their phone and have the Chrome browser open when using the Honorlock Mobile App.
