Honorlock Ignite - Test Taker Experience

How to access a proctored exam initiated through Honorlock Ignite

First, you will receive a shared Exam Access URL for your exam via email. This URL will come from your exam administrator (not Honorlock). If you have not received an email with the Exam Access URL, please contact your exam administrator directly. 

When you visit the Exam Access URL, you will be redirected to an Honorlock landing page requesting your email address. Please provide your registered email on this Honorlock landing page. This is the email address your exam administrator uses for you. 

Upon successful validation of your email address and enrollment for the exam, you will receive an email from info@honorlock.com. The email will provide directions to access your exam and a link to the assessment. Click on “Launch Assessment” to navigate to your exam in a new browser tab. 

Note: This exam link is unique for each test taker’s email.  

You will now begin the authentication process.

1. After launching your assessment, you must agree to Honorlock’s Terms of Service and our Test Taker Privacy Notice policy.

2. Review the System Compatibility and Exam Guidelines, and then select Begin Authentication. If you do not see the Begin Authentication button or are prompted for an access code, even though you have installed the Honorlock Extension, please click here.   

3. A small window will open to begin the authentication process. Depending on the settings of your exam, you may not have to complete all of the steps below. 

4. If your exam administrator has enabled BrowserGuardTM, you will be prompted to close any tabs that are not allowed. Click Close Tabs to automatically close all open browser tabs. 

5. If BrowserGuardTM is enabled, you will be prompted with the message below. Once you click on continue, you will not be able to access any other applications or resources. Any attempts to do so will be flagged for review. You will then be prompted to review Privacy Details and select I understand to continue.

6. You will then be prompted to take your photo. If you have not used Honorlock previously, you will be prompted to Allow Honorlock access to your camera and microphone. You must select Allow to proceed with proctoring your exam.

7. You will be prompted to take a picture of your ID. Align your ID with the ID outline in the camera window. Be sure both your photo and your name are visible to the camera. If the image is blurry or unreadable, you will automatically be prompted to retake your picture. After 3 failed attempts, click on the Other Options button, and you will be directed to upload an image via a QR code or from your computer.

8. Following successful ID and photo validation, you may need to complete a Room Scan. You must show your entire workspace, including desk area, surrounding areas, any scratch paper, or additional resources your exam administrator allows. After filming the room scan, you can review the video and re-record it if necessary. 

9. You will now need to allow screen recording access. Click Continue.  Once the new window opens, click on the small version of your computer screen and then Share. 

10. The last step in launching an exam with Honorlock Ignite is accessing the exam itself.  Open a new tab and navigate to the exam platform where your exam is located. 

11. Locate your exam, follow the prompts on the screen.

12. Once you have located the exam and see the password field for the exam, follow the guided prompt in the pop-up window in the bottom left corner of your test window. Once located, click I Have Found My Assessment. Then click Unlock Assessment.

13. Once the exam password has populated within the field, click Submit (this button/verbiage could be slightly different depending on the third party). Doing this will grant you access to your exam. Please note that if BrowserGuardTM is not enabled for your exam, you will not see the blue border around the testing window as shown in the image below. You can minimize the Honorlock Proctoring window at any time. 

14. Once you’re done with your exam, you can proceed to submit your test.

15. Once you see the confirmation page, you have successfully ended your proctoring session, and no further action is required.
