Please note: Dual Camera Mode is currently in Beta.
Front-facing cameras alone often miss the physical workspace required for highly technical exams (STEM). While side-angle cameras capture the desk and monitor, they can miss the clear facial view needed to verify test-taker identity and monitor focus.
This feature is highly recommended for STEM departments (Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics) and certification programs that require scratch paper or complex problem-solving. It maintains a 360-degree, continuous view of the test taker’s hands, desk, and monitor to ensure that approved scratch paper isn't being swapped for unauthorized materials.
Honorlock’s Dual Camera Mode captures both angles simultaneously to provide a complete view of the testing environment. To ensure a smooth testing experience with low bandwidth requirements for test takers, the front camera captures interval snapshots, which get presented when flags occur, while the side camera records a continuous video feed.

How It Works
-
Organization Enablement:
-
The feature must be enabled for the organization by the CSM.
-
Exam Configuration: Once enabled, exam administrators must toggle on "Use Side-Angle Webcam" in the Honorlock proctoring settings.
-
Enable Dual Camera: After enabling the side-angle camera, enable the "Use Multiple Webcams" toggle.

-
Save: Save the exam settings to apply the dual-camera requirement.
Reviewing Dual Camera Sessions
To ensure exam administrators do not have to double their review time by watching two simultaneous video feeds, Honorlock has streamlined the review process:
-
Access the Results Page: Open a session to review.

-
Open the NEW Session Viewer: Use the top navigation bar to switch to the NEW Session Viewer. (Important: Only the new Session Viewer supports and displays images from the front-facing camera).
-
Review the Footage & Flags:
-
Video Feed: Only the side-camera video will play continuously.
-
Side-Facing Flags: AI flags caught by the side camera will appear in the event log, the timeline, and the session video.
-
Front-Facing Flags: Because the front camera does not record continuous video, AI flags caught by the front camera will appear in the event log and timeline, accompanied by the specific snapshot image of that flag.
