Docebo: Configuring Proctoring Central Repository

4 min. readlast update: 11.13.2024

This article will describe how to add Honorlock proctoring to VILT or e-learning courses in Docebo via the Central repository functionalities.

Before completing the steps described within this article, your administrator has to complete the steps described in the Docebo for Honorlock: Administrator Guide

Adding proctoring to quizzes via the Central Repository

The functionality must first be activated in order to proctor quiz training material in the Central Repository. To do so, access the Central Repository by pressing the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen. In the menu on the left, select Central Repository. Next, locate the training materials you would like to add proctoring and press the title of the selection.

In the Edit screen, place a checkmark in the activate proctoring functionality and use Honorlock to validate this test.

Once Honorlock has been activated, you can, optionally, select Edit Configuration to change flags, thresholds, and customize messages returned from Honorlock.

Setting Flag Thresholds

The Proctoring Configuration tab of the Edit Proctoring configuration slide-in window will allow you to set limits for certain flags that, when exceeded, cause the test to be automatically failed or sent for manual proctoring review.

To override the system default settings configured by your administrator, you can activate the Enable custom configuration for this test checkbox.

If you would like to enable the automatic failing of a test once any of the thresholds have been exceeded, select the Enable automatically invalid test exceeding threshold checkbox.  Doing so will bypass the proctoring step.

By default, this integration uses all the high, medium, and low flags. You activate those flags by setting a threshold greater than zero for each group. Once the threshold has been exceeded, the test is marked for review or failure, depending on the test threshold automation setting.

If you wish to limit the types of flags used to count against an exam taker to specific flags, instead of using the default proctoring session flag thresholds option in the threshold settings, select the custom selection of flag types radio button.  This will allow you to choose all the necessary flags, ignoring the ones you wish to not count toward a negative assessment.

Once you have selected the custom selection of flag types, you can choose your custom flag selection by pressing the Add new flag type button.

Next, in the slide-in window, select all the types of events you wish to monitor and select confirm.

Once you have selected the flags you wish to add, you can configure individual thresholds for these flags.  Failure of the quiz will not be triggered until the number you set here is passed (for example, if you set the threshold for the secondary device flag to six, then the learner will fail the test once they reach seven violations of that particular flag).

After the test has been completed, Honorlock will display a particular message for the proctoring status.  The default messages are:

If you wish to customize the message or messages displayed after the test has been completed, select the checkbox next to the message or messages you wish to customize.

Once you have added the custom messages, you will be able to activate the Translate fields switch, should you wish to localize the custom message.  As soon as you activate the Translate Fields switch, a dropdown box will appear with the language options available for you to translate the messages into.  This list of languages will reflect the list of active languages in your platform.  Depending on which language you select in this list, you will see the language you are currently editing in referenced above the text editor for the customized test completion messages.

When you are done with the customization, select confirm.
