"Share" Icon is Greyed Out1) If the share screen window next to cancel is grey, click on the image under "Your Entire Screen", and then click share. 2) If Step #1 didn't work, try refreshing the page. 3) If Step #2 didn't work, force quit Chrome and relaunch exam again. 4) If Step #3 didn't work, try creating a New Chrome Profile.

Clearing cache and cookies on a ChromebookThese troubleshooting steps can be used when Chrome is not allowing Honorlock's extension to function properly when using a Chromebook device. 1) Enter in the url chrome://settings/ into your address bar at the top of your Chrome browser. 2) Look for the “Privacy and security” section and then click “Clear browsing data”. 3) In the new screen that appears, make sure the only items checked "on" are “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files.

Device Camera PermissionsIf required by your professor, Honorlock requires access to your camera and microphone to begin your exam. Your device may not be automatically set to allow your Chrome browser access to your camera or microphone in some cases. Exam PaymentPayment may be required to use the Honorlock proctoring service. Your institution's settings will determine if payment is necessary. Enter your debit or credit card information and click the Pay button. If your school offers a course pay option, this will cover the cost of proctoring for all exams in the course. Pay for Course can be selected in Payment Options. Please make sure that in order to use a credit card, you click in the name field on the credit card image to add in the name associated with that credit card.

The scope of this document is to provide students with information on how to successfully take a third-party exam via Honorlock. Before you begin, you will need to download Google Chrome and have the Honorlock extension installed to take your exam. To download Chrome, click here; to download the extension, click here.

How to Use Honorlock with a Universal Exam (Student)Honorlock Universal Third Party Integration allows the student to test outside of their LMS, via a third-party publisher website, while their session is still being proctored. Additionally, it's incredibly important to note that you must choose to end proctoring (Step 13) to stop the recording. Before you begin, you will need to download Google Chrome and have the Honorlock extension installed to take your exam. To download Chrome, click here; to download the extension, click here.

How to force quit ChromeIf you receive the below error when starting your assessment, it's important that you correctly force quit out of Chrome. Please see the below instructions for both Windows and Mac devices. Mac: 1) Locate the Chrome browser icon on the dock (the bar of icons that sits at the bottom or side of the screen). 2) Right-click on the browser icon and select Quit. 3) Please open your Chrome browser again and head back to your test.

How to update Google ChromePlease check honorlock.com/support for the most up to date information about our minimum system requirements. 1) In your address bar, paste chrome://settings/help 2) Chrome will begin to automatically update if you are not on the most recent version of Chrome. 3) Once the update is complete, click Relaunch

Install the Honorlock ExtensionPrior to starting your exam, you must install the Honorlock Chrome Extension. 1) Click here to check if the extension is already installed. If not, you will be prompted to install the extension. 2) Review Honorlock's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Once ready, select I agree and then click Add Extension. 3) A new tab will open with the Google Chrome Store. Click Add to Chrome to add the extension to your chrome browser.

Launching Proctoring for your Exam - LMS1) Navigate to your exam within your LMS and click Launch Proctoring. If you do not see the Launch Proctoring button or are prompted for an access code even though you have installed the Honorlock Extension, please click here. 2) A small window will open to start proctoring for your exam. Depending on the settings of your exam, you may not have to complete all of the below steps.

Mac OS 10.15 Catalina Screen RecordingIf you are using Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina) you will need to enable Screen Recording for Google Chrome to allow apps to record the contents of your screen. Troubleshooting "This item has been disabled in Chrome" error messageIf you are receiving this error, please follow the below steps to resolve. 1) First, try to enable Honorlock by clicking "enable this item" in the pop-up within Chrome. 2) If you are unable to successfully enable Honorlock, you'll need to remove other extensions from Chrome. Add this into your address bar: chrome://extensions/ 3) From there, you'll select to Remove any extensions you think could be interfering with Honorlock. You can also toggle them off if that's preferred instead of removing.

Troubleshooting the "Your course integration has encountered an issue" error messageIf you encounter this error message: Please reach out to your faculty member, as this means one of the following is not filled out for your account within the LMS: role, user ID, course ID, email address, full name.

Unable to Start Exam: Receiving -1 Browser ErrorWhen attempting to start an exam with Browserguard, you may see a message stating you have '-1' tabs open and you are unable to proceed past this message. This error is related to the permissions given to your Chrome Extension. Please follow the below instructions to resolve this issue and proceed with your exam. 1) Right-click on the Honorlock extension in the top right of Chrome and select This can read and change site data.
