Honorlock Standard Exam GuidelinesWhen configuring your exam in Honorlock, you can enable specific proctoring guidelines. These guidelines are used by the proctors when reviewing your students in their exams. If a faculty member provides no testing guidelines, our proctors will abide by the following proctoring guidelines: Testing Area​: Lighting in the room must be bright enough to show the student's face and the surrounding area in a clear and detailed manner. Students should be seated at a desk or table.

Bypass Pin Best PracticesPlease Note: The Bypass Pin is unique to each exam and is only available with native LMS exams (not third party exams). Please reach out to your Honorlock Customer Success Manager to retrieve the pin. To promote our mission to serve all students, Honorlock has an accessibility code to bypass Honorlock proctoring when necessary. This code should only be input by a faculty member or proctor to maintain the exam's integrity.

Camera Blade UpdatesThis article is to make you aware of the improvements and updates being made to the in-exam Camera Blade on February 10, 2022. Improvements have been made to the look and feel of the following screens for exam takers: Payment Option, Privacy Details, Multiple Monitors Detected, ID Verification, Browser Guard, Desktop Application, Room Scan, Screen Recording, and Authentication. Images of the new screens are included below. We hope with these updates, exam takers will have a smoother exam taking experience.

Browser Guard and Allowed Site URLs FAQWhat is Browser Guard? Browser Guard is an Honorlock feature that provides enhanced exam security. It can be turned on with a simple click of a toggle in your Honorlock exam settings. When enabled, Browser Guard will prevent your students from accessing websites or browser tabs, using other applications, or resizing the test page window to less than 90% of the screen. Please note that due to some device limitations, Browser Guard will work to varying degrees.

Honorlock Release NotesBelow is a running list of information regarding any customer-facing Honorlock releases: Version 7.15.0 (Web App) + Version 6.6.0 (Extension) May 23, 2023 Honorlock’s new Apple Hand-Off Detection: Our AI detects the presence of the Apple Handoff Icon & proctors observe the session without intervening to determine if a phone is present and being used inappropriately. If the proctor determines the exam taker is using Apple Handoff, they prompt the exam taker to disable handoff to prevent further flags and/or request a roomscan if they see a phone being used.

AI Extension BlockerHonorlock makes sure that tools like Transcript are not accessible during exams, securing the test environment and preventing academic violations. Honorlock Prevents the Use of Chrome Extensions Honorlock has implemented Extension Detection technology, how it works: Honorlock is now logging installed and active extensions at the start of an exam session. Apple Hand-Off DetectionApple’s Handoff feature allows Apple users to synchronize their work across their devices. This feature concerns exam administrators because exam takers can search a question on their phone and then connect that search to their laptop during an exam. Honorlock is the only online proctoring company detecting device sharing apps like Apple Handoff. This feature was requested by current customers so that we can see if a mobile phone is in the vicinity of the exam taking place.
